Expert Petroleum has acquired 87.5% interest and operations of the Padureni oil field from Zeta Petroleum. This is an ex-Romgaz gaz field discovered in 1984 and its production operations lasted from 1991 and 1994. The Padureni field is a four-way dip closed anticline within the Sarmatian reservoir sequence of the Miocene. The field is located 10km from our HQ in Targu Mures. It has limited recoverable reserves, but there is significant promise as seismic data clearly shows some potential by-pass as well as deeper zones. There is also a fully operational Gaz surface production facility available next to the field (1km) and a low pressure collection pipeline (6 bars) which passes through the field.

The Romanian National Mineral Agency has confirmed the transfer of the Salonta field to Expert Petroleum. The Salonta field is a mature gaz and condensate field, spread over the Romanian/Hungarian border. Most of the reservoir is currently producing on the Hungarian side while operations are handled by MOL. The combined field has 230 BSCF GIIP and 7 MMBBLS CIIP, and the current recovery factor is at 68%.

Expert Petroleum SRL in a consortium with Celtique Energie Petroleum, Ltd have signed two concession agreements with the ANMR ( Romanian National Agency for Mineral Ressources) to redevelop two Oilfield Assets in Romania called Gravita and Stoenita. The consortium plans to start field and seismic studies before the end of the year in order to prepare a complete Field Development Plan for 2009.

The National Agency for Natural Resources of Romania approved the strategic acquisition by Expert Petroleum SRL of the Arsita field concession. Arsita is located 10 Km south of the Frumoasa field already owned 100% by Expert Petroleum SRL. The reservoir similitudes and the proximity of both field, will allow Expert Petroleum SRL to develop both fields using the same production and water injection plan and therefore decreasing the Opex and Capex of the development program.

During the 150 years anniversary Jubilee of the Romanian oil and gas industry, Expert Petroleum has received an excellence award in recognition for its contribution to this industry.
This anniversary has combined numerous events throughout the whole year 2007 and was concluded by a Jubilee conference in Bucharest attended by more than 500 persons from the government, universities, oil and gas companies as well as oilfield services.
